Two types of laser dentistry

There are two different types of lasers used in dentistry, one for hard tissues and one for soft tissues. Hard tissue lasers can be used to detect cavities in teeth and to prepare teeth for fillings. Soft tissue lasers can be used for gum reshaping and gum surgery.

Dr. Wicklund is a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry and has a soft tissue laser to help recontour or remove excess soft tissues in the mouth.  Please bring up your questions about dental lasers during your appointment at our office.
